The MLP programme was launched during COVID. During the pandemic, schools were shut and students lost over a year of education. The app was designed to provide basic lessons on the cheapest available smartphone so those who could get access could keep learning. The reality is, whilst schools are back, there are many students who still do not get access to school for various reasons. Other students go to school, but their teachers are absent or resources are missing. Digital technology is a great tool to begin to address these challenges.
